When you think about self hosted WordPress, most people automatically think about using some kind of Linux distribution, however, it is certainly possible to install WordPress in Windows using WampServer with a bit of extra configuration.
There are some steps that need to be taken, they are pretty much as follows:
- Install WampServer – This will be your web server application.
- Download WordPress – Your CRM for Websites
- Configure the WordPress files in WampServer
- Configure VirtualHosts
- Configure CloudFlare HTTPS
The code that you need to copy into wp-config.php Line 2 is here:
if (strpos($_SERVER['HTTP_X_FORWARDED_PROTO'], 'https') !== false) $_SERVER['HTTPS']='on'; else $_SERVER['HTTPS']='off';
The video below shows how to do all of these steps in depth with a guide along the way!
